Sindhurakshak blast (August)

It was India’s worst naval accidents in least three decades. India’s naval submarine, INS Sindhurakshak, burst into flames and sank in a Mumbai port with 18 crew members on board. A massive fire lit up the sky near Mumbai Naval Docks around midnight after a series of explosions tore through the Russia-make submarine first commissioned in 1997. The Sindhurakshak had just returned after an overhaul and an upgrade in Russia.
