Minor Reshuffle in PMO, Misri made Private Secretary, Jawed Ashraf made JS (PMO)

For Misri, 1989-batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service, this is the second time he is serving as Private Secretary to the Prime Minister. He was earlier Private Secretary to Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral in 1997, according to sources.
Misri succeeds fellow Jaideep Sarkar who has been posted as Ambassador to Israel, sources said. Misri had joined the PMO as Joint Secretary in March after a brief stint in Munich as India''s Consul General. Prior to his assignment in Munich, he was India''s Deputy High Commissioner in Lanka.
He was Director to External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, prior to his posting to Colombo in 2008. Jawed Ashraf, a 1991 batch IFS officer.takes over from Misri as JS (PMO). Another change is the selection of Anu Garg, 1991-batch IAS officer from Orissa cadre, as Joint Secretary to succeed L K Atheeq, who will join the World Bank.
Garg is at present Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
