Jethmalani challenges BJP to take action against him
New Delhi: A belligerent BJP MP Ram Jethmalani, who attacked the party for its criticism on the appointment of the new CBI director, today challenged the party leadership to take action against him for his stand on the issue.
"If there is any action taken against me, I will welcome it but I don't think anyone has the guts to take any action against me," he told reporters here.
Replying to questions, the Rajya Sabha MP said, "I cannot speak for the party. I am a very small person in the party, I can't predict its action but that does not permit me from speaking the truth.
"I have expressed my view and I am very happy that at least 3-4 persons have supported me," he said.
After Mamata Banerjee wrote to President Pranab Mukherjee urging action against former Supreme Court Judge AK Ganguly in the sexual harassment case, Bar Council of India Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra said that police can lodge an FIR in the case but the victim has to come in front and speak up.
