India Decides: Election results

Mandate 2009 threw couple of surprises, with Congress and UPA doing better than expected. BJP and its NDA allies fared well in the BJP ruled states, whereas Congress- Samajwadi duo gave fair amount of jitters to Mayawati's BSP in Uttar Pradesh. Congress-Trinamool Congress almost wrote off Left in West Bengal. Congress stole the show in Kerala as well. Maharashtra too brought good news for Congress and its alliance partner NCP. Varun won by a record margin in the first ever election that he contested. The new Lok Sabha will see all the Gandhis in the Parliament.
