Centre free to withdraw all IAS officers from UP, SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav says
Lucknow/New Delhi: Confrontation between the Centre and UP government over Durga Shakti Nagpal escalated on Monday with the Samjawadi Party justifying the suspension of the IAS officer and daring the Centre to withdraw all IAS officers from the state.
Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav once again justified the action of his government.
"There might be many children (sitting here) who I can say would have received a beating from their teachers and parents when they had done something wrong. The government is also run like this, whenever any official does something wrong, he is punished", Akhilesh Yadav said while addressing a function in Lucknow.
Senior Samajwadi Party leader Ramgopal Yadav reacted strongly to Centre seeking a report from the state on the suspension of Durga Nagpal.
After Mamata Banerjee wrote to President Pranab Mukherjee urging action against former Supreme Court Judge AK Ganguly in the sexual harassment case, Bar Council of India Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra said that police can lodge an FIR in the case but the victim has to come in front and speak up.
