BSP will thrash SP goons when it returns to power: Mayawati
Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Sunday warned the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh that "her government will thrash the Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders and goons black and blue after being voted back to power".
"When the BSP was in power, it had distributed land to Dalits, but it has been forcibly taken over by the SP goons after their party assumed office in the state. I want to assure you all that when the BSP will be voted back to power, we will thrash (SP goons) them black and blue... so much so that they will never think of repeating the act," said Mayawati, while addressing a large gathering of BSP workers in Lucknow on the occasion of 122th birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar.
She was confident about the BSP winning the next elections because the "people are fed up with the collapse of law and order as well as governance in the state under SP government". Earlier, she had said that the SP Government was acting with political vendetta by removing hoardings at the Bhimrao Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Sthal that were put up to pay tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar on his birth anniversary.
Following a dreadful washout in the four-State Assembly polls, a humbled Congress accepted its defeat and called for a much needed introspection to rethink their strategy ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
