Bihar assembly pays tribute to Sena chief Bal Thackeray
Patna: Bihar legislature today paid rich tributes to Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray, noted film-maker Yash Chopra, 'milkman' Verghese Kurien among others on the opening day of its winter session.
Thackeray who passed away in Mumbai on November 17 this year was paid tributes by members in the Legislative Council in the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who is an MLC.
Council chairman Awdhesh Narayan Singh said the Shiv Sena founder always fought for the welfare of Marathi people.
Kurien credited for bringing "White Revolution" in the country by establishing "Amul" brand in Gujarat, was praised for revolutionising milk production in the country.
