Operation Sadbhavna: Kashmiri students meet Farooq Abdullah
New Delhi, Feb 17 (PTI) A group of students from remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir today met Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Farooq Abdullah here.
The students, who are on an educational tour organised by 38 Rashtriya Rifles under ''Operation Sadbhavna'', had a detailed interaction with the minister.
Abdullah praised the initiative to expose the young students from far flung areas to the outside world through Sadbhavna Mission and hoped that more such programmes at various levels will be undertaken, a Ministry release said.
The minister asked the young students to follow the path of truth, righteousness, secularism, communal harmony and nationalism.
"Abdullah urged the visiting students to care for the environment and inculcate a spirit of love for nature and its resources," the release said.
Officers from the Ministry made a presentation on renewable energy and explained the nature and use of renewable energy and its increasing significance, it added.
Soaring temperatures and heat waves have gripped North India, as locals try to beat it by drinking fluids and covering themselves as they drive their vehicles. The effect of the rising temperatures was visible in Allahabad, where scores of people turned up to take bath in the Ganges river to beat the heat.
