Jagir Kaur claims false case slapped against her
Kapurthala, Jan 14 (PTI) Former SGPC President and SAD candidate from Bholath, Jagir Kaur today alleged that Kapurthala Police under the influence of Congress candidate Sukhpal Singh Khaira had registered a false case against her and two family members following seizure of 210 boxes of liquor from a liquor outlet at village Talwandi on Friday.
Addressing a press conference here, Kaur said that liquor contractor Yadvinder Singh who runs 10 liquor vends in the area was shifting liquor from one of his vends to another vend after taking oral permission from the excise officials.
She claimed that the liquor was wrongfully confiscated and denied that it was meant for distribution among the voters in view of the January 30 Punjab assembly polls.

He claimed that he had all the valid documents and proofs which were shown to the Excise and Taxation Officer and other officers present there "but they registered the case under political pressure".
Kaur today met District Electoral Officer and Election Observer and explained to them about the registration of the case against her and her two family members due to the alleged pressure of Khaira.
Begowal police had registered a criminal case against Jagir Kaur, her daughter Rajnit Kaur, her son in law Bhupinder Singh, Kulwant Kaur and Yadvinder Singh following a seizure of 210 boxes of liquor near outlet of liquor vend at Talwandi on Friday night. .
