The ship houses over 5,000 collections, which range from science to sports and hobbies to cookery and offers an opportunity to buy books, co-ordinator of the Logos Hope, Kathryn Wilson told PTI.
She added that this is the biggest of the four ships that was being operated by Good Books for All (GBA) Ships, a German charitable organisation.
The ship has about 400 volunteers from about 40 nations serving on board.
"Some are qualified to run the ship and the others just serve as volunteers for GBA," she said, adding that the ship exhibits a multi-national environment.
Wilson further said the crew of the ship would give a performance ''International Night'' on August 5 to showcase the cultures of different countries.
Earlier, M V Logos, a smaller version of the vessel, had visited this city in 1972 and M V Doulos had anchored for few days in 2006. This is for the third time that GBA ship is visiting the city during the last 40 years of its operation.
