Special trains to Jammu, Lucknow to clear extra rush



New Delhi, Jul 5 (PTI) With a view to clear extra rush of passengers, the Northern Railway has decided to run special trains to Jammu, Varanasi, Lucknow, Ratangarh and Udhampur.
There is already a special train running between Ajmer and Haridwar thrice a week since July 2.
"A special train will run daily for Panipat from July 6 to July 31. The train will start from Old Delhi station," said a Northern Railway official.
The Delhi-Panipat train will depart from Old Delhi at 6.10 am and reach Panipat at 8.20 am. While in the return direction, the train will depart from Panipat at 6.30 pm and reach Old Delhi at 9 pm.
According to the schedule, the Anand Vihar-Jammu Tawi special train will depart from Anand Vihar on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from July 5 to July 30 at 11.15 pm to reach Jammu Tawi at 11.50 am the next day.
In the return journey, it will depart from Jammu Tawi on every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from July 6 to July 31 at 5.30 pm to reach Anand Vihar at 5.40 am the next day. The train will stop at Ghaziabad, Meerut, Saharanpur, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt and Chakki Bank stations enroute in both the direction.
The Delhi Sarai Rohila-Udhampur special train will depart from Delhi Sarai Rohila on every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from July 6 to July 30 at 10.15 pm to reach Udhampur at 8.30 am the next day. While in the return direction, the train will depart from Udhampur on every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from July 7 to July 31 at 5.55 pm to reach Delhi Sarai Rohila at 4.10 a.m the next day.
