Haryana Minister Gopal Kanda sulking after Hooda rebuff
Sirsa/Hisar (Har), June 12 (PTI) Haryana''s Minister of State for Home Gopal Kanda today returned his official car and staff, apparently after the independent MLA from Sirsa was snubbed by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda at a function in his constituency, sources said.
Kanda, who is among the seven MLAs who are providing crucial support to the Hooda government, is sulking over Hooda''s refusal to lay the foundation stone of Arorvansh Sewa Sadan and Agrawal Sadan in Sirsa yesterday after the local Congress MP and AICC Secretary Ashok Tanwar stayed away from the function as his name was not on the plaque.
Kanda''s brother later rushed to Tanwar and persuaded him to attend the function. It was after Tanwar''s arrival that the chief minister received garlands from the organisers and agreed to address the public meeting, the sources said.
Sources close to the minister told PTI that Kanda was upset with the incident and he consulted some independent legislators supporting Hooda government before taking the step.
According to the sources, after paying homage to late Bhajan Lal at his Hisar residence, Kanda came to the rest house and told his official staff including the car driver and security personnel that he no longer needed them. MORE PTI TEAM SUN AKA
