During depression, music was my sole respite: Raghubir Yadav
Udaipur, June 9 (PTI) He is known for his acting prowess, but ''Peepli Live'' star Raghubir Yadav says he is passionate about singing which works as his biggest strength during troubled times.
The actor''s musical skills came to the fore when he sang ''Mehngai Dayain Khaye Jat'' for the Aamir Khan production and is set to lend his voice for Nagesh Kukunoor''s upcoming film ''Mod''.
"I always wanted to be a singer but films just happened and then stayed with me. I haven''t considered taking up singing as a career because I don''t know whether the current generation will like my style," Yadav told PTI.
The actor is going through a rough phase in his personal life, being involved in a legal battle with his ex-wife and says music is his only hope that gives him the will to overcome his problems.
"I was in depression for a very long time because of my ex-wife. I had run away to stay in isolation, I was tired of her and her demands. That was the time when listening to music gave me strength and peace of mind. Music was my only friend," said the actor, who is currently shooting for Ishraq Shah''s political thriller ''Ek Bura Aadmi'' in Udaipur.
Yadav will be seen playing a father in the upcoming movie ''Mod'', which also stars Ayesha Takia and VJ-actor Ranvijay Singh. The movie is a remake of a Taiwanese film ''Keeping Watch''.
Yadav, who has portrayed German dictator Adolf Hitler in the movie ''My Friend Hitler'', says it was a challenging role and he is glad that he took it up. .
