Proving that the Telangana sentiment is still strong, TRS retained Siddipet, Sirpur, Dharmapuri and Chennur seats with huge majority and wrested Vemulawada seat from Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
TRS leader T. Harish Rao has set a record by retaining Siddipet seat with a margin of 95,858 votes, breaking the record of former chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who was re-elected from Pulivendula constituency in Kadapa district last year with a margin of 68,681.
Harish Rao came second in last year's elections in terms of victory margin with 64,677 votes.
The candidates of both the ruling Congress and main opposition Telugu Desam Party in Siddpet constituency in Medak district lost their deposits.
Harish Rao is the nephew of TRS chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao and has been winning the seat ever since the latter moved to the Lok Sabha after the 2004 elections.In a major blow for the ruling Congress party, the state unit chief D. Srinivas lost the Assembly by-election.
In a repeat of the 2009 result, Srinivas was defeated by BJP's A. Lakshminarayana by a margin of 12,200 votes in Nizamabad Urban constituency.
The result has come as a big jolt to Srinivas, who was planning to join the state cabinet and was even emerging as a possible successor to Chief Minister K. Rosaiah.
Telangana people have simply stripped congress and tdp.This was the worst defeat in the history of telangana drohula party alias TDP.Dramabaji karne par bhi choron ko diposit bhi nahin milaa.
PCC president himself could not win in Nizamabad.Such is the fate of congress.
TDP alias seemandhra party is already wiped out telangana.
People have voted for heroes and not hizdas and political brokers.

Take notice that Telengana will be given on the verge of next general election by our Super Prime Minister in order to have the credit to her and try to win both the Telangana and AP. She may succeed or the congress which was in power at the mercy of AP for two terms will be wiped out once for all and the super PM may go and settle in Colombia with her daughter in law prodding her grandson, who is stated to be under the care of Pope with the money arranged by Anderson.
Mind that congress is a whale and will gulp anyone but Nehru family. If a scabby dog is heading the congress brought up from Nehru family can rule the roost and our so called leaders will prod and kiss it for their individual survival.
Lots of trouble ahead for Congress!
If congress announces one more time a separate statehood by Jan2011....then the same situation arises again...this time in Andhra region.....to keep their political identity in future....all the Andhra leaders have to resign.....if not all ......some of them at least.....by-polls may be imminent and then leaders who ever resigned for unified AP, will win again with huge majority.....
Congress is totally fixed in Andhra Pradesh.....!! It they continue like this....I have no doubt that AP will become one more TN where Regional parties will rule the state....
BEGINNING OF END FOR CONGRESS. Now, with Jagan as rebel, Cong. strength is almost minimal in AP. Congress sucks and leaves its allies. It did it with Amar, with Sibu Soren, with Communists, with Lalu, and to do the same with NCP Pawar shortly. Pity Karunanidhi. At an opportune time it will meddle between Stalin and Alagiri and divide DMK. But this divisive western(Sonia) policy of divide and rule will not lost long. CONG on its own is now dismal in Karnataka, Kerala, TN, UP, MP, Bengal, Bihar, Gujarat, Orissa(only a partner in govt.), Now with this losing trend in AP, drown or downtrend of Congress is imminent. corrupt CWG, Pak talk failure, Losing out to naxals or moists, undue influence on CBI, lack of control on ministries like Railways, Agriculture, Sports, Finance(in combating inflation), overburdened ministers(like Pawar), defiant ministers like Rajaa, corrupt ministers like Kalmadi ho ho ho ho list goes on. Sonia and Rahul will be silent when problems come. If any inauguration or celebration comes they will come to the front. Public are watching. Wake up congress. Jayanthi Natarajan or singhvi can do only limited damage control.
