The question asked was: Is CBI a Congress Bureau of Investigation?
The question was asked against the backdrop of the speed with which the CBI acted in the Shorabuddin encounter case against Gujarat Deputy Home Minister Amit Shah.
While going after cops and Shah in Gujarat, the CBI was conspicuously silent on the role played by the Andhra Pradesh cops.
The CBI now wants to go after cops and politicians in Rajasthan -- another State that was ruled by the BJP.
The CBI and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had taken the high moral ground that the investigations have not been influences and that it is proceeding as per the directions of the Supreme Court orders.
"Well, there is no truth in that (BJP charge). The opposition knows it jolly well. This Sohrabuddin case is a Supreme Court-directed investigation. The Central government has no hand in it. "It has not tried to influence the investigation process in any way. I repeat categorically in any way," he told reporters in Parliament House on the first day of the Monsoon Session.
Said the BJP: "Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat are under CBI radar but the Andhra Pradesh angle (in the fake encounter case) is not being investigated at all as Congress is in power there," BJP chief spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad had said.
It is worth flagging here that the Supreme Court had also ordered for a look into the role played by the AP cops. The CBI is silent on this.
A majority of MSN postings, appear clearly against the congress... Say honestly, who could be better?...Perhaps, one should be excused, if one raises one's hand for the Congress & co, in the absence of any better alternative! At least they profess (even if they don't practice!) liberal democracy.

SO SONIAJI PLEASE NOT BE IN HURRY TO GET CBI ENQUIRY TO BE COMPLETED IN EARLIEST POSSIBLE TIME. UPA HURRY WILL STRENGTHEN MODIJI'S POWER IN GUJARAT. THE MSN SURVEY IS CORRECT.
83 % of the people surveyed, raising their hands against the CBI, doesn't show the organ in good light. A cynic may question the authenticity of the survey, but 83% against, is a solid opinion. Further, MSN doesn't appear to have any bias, against the CBI. The CBI and the central government should do whatever is needed to clear the dark cloud from over the organization. That is a national need of the immediate present.

It is unfair to call CBI always a biased investigating department. Yes, it may happen in some cases. The chief of CBI has to be biased as it is a political appointment. He has to listen to the dictates of some vested interest politicians to stay there shamelessly. Some of the politicians are settling their scores with their rivals through CBI, this case might be one among them. The congress has been making monkey out of us pre-Independence and post Independence as well.
Now that the BJP has consolidated and have educated about the injustice done to our countrymen , the congress is not in the position to digest fearing the loss of power. We also fear that the congress may even play dirty. Any strong opposition crops up exposing their corrupt intentions in due course of time , they may again impose emergency in the country. Be prepared to face it!
