Any similarity between the two attacks ends here though. The respective responses to the attacks were in stark contrast to each other.
While America's response was to start a 'War on Terror', and tighten security around and within its borders, India's has been startlingly lax.
Do we need a unified Body to deal with terror?
One step in the right direction has been the establishment of the National Investigative Agency, a federal agency that is empowered to combat terrorism and terror related crimes across the country, without special permission from the states. However, the Indian government has failed to form the equivalent of the Department of Homeland Security, which is desperately needed in order to effectively combat terrorism. For all the good that the NIA may do, government departments are still mired in bureaucracy and have to liaison with each other for the smallest task. Each department is unable to act without the approval or complicity of other departments which hampers any effort to combat terrorism. A single government department would be able to maintain control over any anti-terrorism efforts and ensure that there are no leaks or miscommunication between departments.

Google "The loose chain documentary on world trade center" and check wiki results to know the truth with proofs.
Even 26/11 attack have many loose chain to debate on but the truth is just one" It's just another attack...... who cares" that's the attitude people have. Higher authorities received info about 26/11 attack 2 months in advance but the info was just circulating within department. Defense system is $hit, not equipped enough to face such attacks.... to take any action they need hell lot of formalities, they don't give a **** if there's a terrorist in the hotel killing people coz they are just waiting for the formalities to be done. Navy admiral can't take any action... why ?????????? waiting for formalities. Special force can't reach on time .... WHY?????????? waiting on Delhi airport for the damn plane which is never on time. oops how can i forget they were not getting reservation on the plane.....
Can anyone stil say dat our system is not responsible to make the situation worst ?
Dear all,
No doubt that the attacks on 26/11 were brutal, catastrophic, canabilistic and unhuman. However, we as Indians must stop blaming the lax of the Government in taking adequate measures after the attack and jump to a conclusion that it was the Government's fault and because of them 200 or more? innocent lives have been lost. We have stood strong against the terrorists as one force, as one country and we must fight the terrorists as the same. We must stand together and cooperate with the government as far as security checks, tax payments or any suchs things are concerned. We must not forget that it is us who have chosen the government, and therefore the responsibility lies on us that we support our choice- "he Democratic Government" and help them as much as we can. Guys, we the people of India are responsible for the 26/11 attacks as a whole and not the government only because they are mere representatives of the npeople in the nation. The terrorists are not blind and can clearly see the political unrest, and the various wars that go on within the country itself. If we do not stand united now then we are once again setting a wrong example for these antisocial elemets and openly inviting them to wage attacks on us. Guys, if you do not stop this blame game then you are calling for another 26/11. The choice is upto you- cooperate with the Government and stand united as one nation or blame people for it and anticipate another 26/11. Think about it.
After 9/11, there have been no attacks in the US.
At the macro level, we should strategize our policies in keeping with that of the US.
We should also involve the Mossad.
Communal violence, like terrorism, polarizes the communities.
It is important to encourage communitarian awareness at the micro level.
All religions profess universal brotherly love.
However, there exist in every religion, three streams of members.
There are the fundamentalists, who believe that, by tradition, they are the sole keepers of the true faith. All others are “outsiders”.
Next, there are the moderates and futurists. They are confident of others also being children of God.
The fundamentalist dominance creates dismal, fissiparous tendencies. They fuel the pain and insecurity of the marginalized minorities, who feel the only solution is violence.
The frustrated youth are also promised an eternal Paradise in the hereafter.
In order to encourage communitarian awareness, we should consider planting Small Citizen Cells (SCCs) at the grassroots level to spread the message of brotherly love. These SCCs will organize inter-faith prayer meetings and establish a socio-cultural interface.
They will involve the economically marginalized through Education and genuine social upliftment.
These efforts should be safeguarded from proselytization threats, and not be politically motivated.
Thus, a database of every citizen in the area will be available.
The Police Force should be streamlined by implementing the ILO’s 1919 yardstick of 8 hours duty, overtime, and compensatory rest for quality family time.
The Police Act, 1861 should be amended to delink the Police Force from politicization.
dear joeblr,
if TATA has to be jailed for 26/11 what should we do to the people who were heading the state & central government (ironically both congress)
