"The summons by the ED were delivered at my Ranchi residence only on November 18, a day before the appearance when I was busy campaigning (for assembly polls) in Chaibasa," Koda said here when asked by reporters why he failed to appear before the agency on November 19.
Koda said he would be available only after the conclusion of Jharkhand state Assembly polls on December 18. The former Jharkhand Chief Minister has put up six candidates, including his wife Gita on behalf of Jharkhand Navanirman Morcha for the polls.
"Moreover, the ED wanted certain documents like passport, which I don't have as they must be with either the income tax authorities or vigilance department (both the agencies had raided Koda's residence). Unless I get them how can I show them," he said.
He refused to comment on his 'aides' Sanjay Choudhary and Binod Sinha, who are facing arrest warrants following the raid by Income Tax authorities on about 70 premises, including Koda's residences, and unearthed documents that allegedly pointed to hawala transactions and illegal investment to the tune of over Rs 2,000 crore.

Instead of asking Indian public to stand up to the ED just use your brain to understand who is controlling this ED. How did Quattrochi with 64 crores commission get away easily? It is Sonia and Rahul, they are the real culprit behind the scene. Koda was made CM by these looters pretending as leaders. What commitment they have for this country? How can they promote a criminal as CM? Why did they start investigation now? Either Koda has not given their cut or they thought the loot will cost them vote in this election. They will do anything to get vote and power.
Either way people should kick out this two big looters from India who are hiding behind the scene and managing the loot of India.
Politicians have no respect for Law and even a minnow like Mahu Konda dares to ignore ED so one can imagine seasoned thick skinned Politicians would be using them as their servants to carry out errands.
It is ONLY POSSIBLE IN INDIA WHERE AN ALLEGED CRIMINAL CAN DICTATE TERMS TO LAW ENFORCING AGENCIES and HE DECIDES WHEN TO MEET THE OFFICIALS.
The Courts have a statue (NOT OF MAYAWATI) which indicates that law is blind and instead of taking the real meaning; the POLITICIANS FEELS LAW IS BLIND,DEAF and DUMB.
ARE OUR LAW ENFORCING AGENCIES SO INCOMPETENT or IMPOTENT that they can't take FIRM ACTION AGAINS ERRING POLITICIANS ?
