They said in all probability the line will be inaugurated on Thursday in line with DMRC''s earlier decision to open the corridor before the start of India International Trade Fair on November 14. The line, once opened, will bring a paradigm shift in the travelling habits of thousands of people in the National Capital Region.

The sources also said the DMRC has communicated to the Delhi Government and Urban Development Ministry that it will open the Noida line by next week. Meanwhile, DMRC chief E Sreedharan met Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit yesterday and is understood to have sought funds for the third phase of the Delhi Metro which envisages covering of another 120 km in the National Capital Region.

The Delhi Government recently approved a proposal and sanctioned the required amount to the DMRC for carrying out a Deatiled Project Report (DPR) of the Phase-III. The DMRC had last week begun trial runs on the Noida corridor.
