The Prime Minister's Office(PMO) has ordered a probe into the incident which happened when Manmohan Singh was at PGIMER to attend a convocation.
A spokesman of the PMO said it "is saddened" at the death of a patient at the PGIMER during the visit of the Prime Minister. "A full report has been asked for," the spokesman said in a statement.
The family of the deceased S P Verma, a resident of Ambala in Haryana, claimed that security personnel, including those from Chandigarh Police, deployed at the medical institute, did not allow their vehicle to proceed to the Emergency department and kept diverting them from one place to another for about two hours.

What Mr. Devadason is writing is academics only, does he think that abulances are in abundance in the city. What is the harm in travelling in a private car to a Hospital in an Emergency situation? In Emrgency will start searching for an Ambulance or would take the vehicle which is immediately with him!!! The Security men should have understood their requirement of Emergency instead of diverting him for 2 hours as alleged by the Family. They are puzzled lots at such duties and they do not know what to do if any such situation arese, they have the instructions to keep the VIP's route cleared so they are not bothered to decide for such emergency situations, they are simply Jawans to follow the ORDERS of their superiors and have no Humanity whatsoever in that situation.
Whatever Mr. bansal has written herein below I ditto his writing. Well done Mr. Bansal in expressing your logical thinking.
Why was the patient NOT in an ambulance. The siren would have helped the security men then.
That was careless on thwe family's part.
ID
Why was the patient not in an ambulance?
The driving rules are clear then!
No VIP wld have disregarded the siren in an emergency surely.
Please fiind that out.

bcz if don't give them the security , u will see a new pm after every weekend .
but most people are extra protected, our country is not secured now like other developed country does.
PM is also a common and should be treated like a common man like in other contries why we give extra care to these people and treat them like god's. They have taken everything for granted latest example Koda and I can bet this will keep going like this.
In my view, there is no value of a common person but the situation get worse when when a Very Idiot Person is around. And this is not because of this Very Very Idiot Person rather because of lack of Technical Training and lack of social responsibilities in our law and security system and personnel's. Now PM's visit to hospital left a family in limbo and they have order for an full report instead to fire to the whole staff on duty till final report arrive and justice done to the family and the person in peace and who will be writing the full report are cosines of involved culprits security personnel cause the family tragedy. Wake up INDIA and setup some strong measure's for the system and for these culprits so that a common can stand and speak without any fear.
I wish to see that the situation happen to all, so called, VVIP's in one time and be their last breathing. Indira,Rajiv and recently YSR lost their lives suddenly and such should be the case for all VVIPs and that too at younger age. What is the problem, their family never realise as they amazed wealth for nearly 10 generations and never mind about the death.
