Emerging from the BJP's Core Committee's meeting to decide on the leadership issue Monday evening, Singh said that Yeddyurappa would continue.
"Yes, he will," Singh told reporters in reply to a question whether Yeddyurappa will remain the chief minister.
The core committee meeting was attended by veteran leader L.K. Advani, party president Singh and general secretary Arun Jaitley.
Earlier in the day, G. Janardhana Reddy, the tourism minister and one of the Reddy brothers who is gunning to remove Yeddyurappa, met Jaitley and party MP Ananth Kumar in Delhi.
"Every legislator and MP put forward their viewpoints," general secretary Jaitley had told reporters here.
"Based on that we (Ananth Kumar and Jaitley) gave our report to the national leadership," Jaitley said after meeting Reddy.
The main demand of the Reddy brothers is to have a home minister in the state of their choice, withdrawal of abduction cases against them and revamping of the state administration.
The power tussle in the BJP's Karnataka unit saw prolonged negotiations between leaders of the rival camps and national leaders here Sunday.
Several legislators and MPs belonging to both camps - one supporting Yeddyurappa and the other favouring the Reddy brothers of Bellary - were in the capital.
Yeddyurappa supporters -- former MP Dhananjay Kumar and state Home Minister V.S. Acharya -- met Advani and party president Rajnath Singh Sunday.
Acharya and Kumar also called on RSS pointsman and BJP general secretary Ramlal earlier and claimed his support in favour of Yeddyurappa.
The Reddy brothers - ministers G. Janardhana Reddy and elder brother G. Karunakara Reddy (Revenue) - were lobbying to appoint assembly Speaker Jagadish Shettar as the chief minister. Shettar, 53, is close to the brothers.

What is happening in BJP is not inspiring as leaders struggle for power. The earlier days have gone and now wheeler dealers have taken over the party apparatus as a consequence of winning power.
Any one expecting Rahul to bring honesty in Indian politics is fooling themselves. Look at their allies NCP, DMK, JMM, RJD, SP, LJP etc. all are corrupt basically. The Nehru family except Nehru retained power using corruption as an incentive (starting from Indira Gandhi). Even today they survive on corrupt money and engaged in wheeler dealing, ayaram and gayarams and by dispersing power and favours to those inside and outside the country who matter. They are the owners of the license permit raj (called socialism which bred corruption of infinite scale earlier), they are the one promoting anti nationals and terrorist today. They are the one depending and promoting power brokers like Amar Singh to bribe MP's for vote. Even then we have enough stupid Indians who are willing to support the fountain head of corruption who are pretending otherwise. What a shame? What values are we advocating? Corruption is a gift of the congress to India right from the time of the first government after 1950.
The BJP should not be allowed to go that way even if they have to axe all such power hungry and undisciplined or corrupt leaders. Power is not an end in itself, politics should be cleaned of power brokers, corrupt, goondas, wheeler dealers, ayarams and gayarams and make it a people oriented service mission.
The BJP should grow on its own foundation and on the shoulders of sincere, hard working and patriotic Indians, otherwise there is no difference between congress and BJP.
BJP needs to impose discipline in the cadre.I remember the old days when in cadre party like BJP there were no disciplinary issues. Is BJP paying the price for attracting outsiders to stay in power? Money corrupts and it is high time the national governmentbring a legislation for 90 % tax on people who amass wealth. The Reddy syndrome is no different.
I am afraid where the country is heading to? If Rahul could bring honesty into politics It would be a new begining in indian politics.We are not for symbols and names we are for ideologies and honesty.
