Chethana told the Supreme Court that her former husband Kumar Jahgirdhar was not cooperating in mediation efforts and therefore a legal battle was the only legal option. She said she now prefers to pursue the custodial battle in the Trial Court.
Senior counsel Mukul Rohtagi appeared in the Supreme Court for Chethana who had moved a Special Leave Petition against the Karnataka HC order.
Jahgirdar's counsel Prashant Bhushan said he had no objection to the same. The Bench comprising Justices Tarun Chatterjee and G M Lodha allowed the withdrawal of SLP.
The Apex Court had earlier asked Chethana and her former husband to work out an amicable settlement on shared custody of their daughter.
