Stolen SUV of Shinde's son-in-law found
Mumbai, Feb 17 (IANS) An SUV of Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde's son-in-law, which was stolen Thursday, was found abandoned by thieves Saturday night minutes after the minister's daughter spotted it.
Raj Shroff's Mitsubishi Pajero was stolen from outside his house in Worli Thursday night. Special police teams were formed to trace it. Crime Branch too was asked to do a parallel search.
Saturday night, as Praniti, Shinde's youngest daughter, spotted the SUV close by as she was going towards her residence, said a police official. Praniti is Shroff's sister-in-law and a legislator in Maharashtra.
After confirming its registration number, the police personnel, part of Praniti Shinde's security, approached the vehicle.
Seeing them, the driver in the Pajero reversed the vehicle and sped off. A message was sent out to police control room and a hunt began. Half an hour later, the vehicle was found abandoned in Bandra.
Shroff is married to Sinde's second daughter Priti.
