Man kills wife, self in Gurgaon
Gurgaon, Feb 11 (IANS) An engineering student killed his wife and committed suicide here by hanging himself from a ceiling fan, police said Monday. He left a suicide note blaming his in-laws for the incident.
Gajender Singh, 24, a resident of village Tigra near sector 57, strangled his wife Meenakshi alias Sarita, 22, before hanging himself from a ceiling fan in their bedroom, said a police officer.
Gajender was a third year student in an engineering college in Gurgaon. He married Meenakshi nearly three years ago. Meenakshi's parental house is in Mohammadpur village on Delhi-Gurgaon expressway, said a villager.
"Meenakshi's body was lying on the bed while Gajendra was found hanging from the ceiling fan on the first floor of their house. The bodies were found Monday morning," said the police officer.
A suicide note purportedly written by Gajendra said: "My in-laws' family was responsible for the extreme step and must be punished."
"The post mortem examination could not be conducted as the essential papers from the police were not ready," government doctor Deepak Mathur told IANS.
"We are investigating the case," said Sadar police station chief Yashwant.
