Shaheedi Jor Mela concludes

Fatehgarh Sahib, Dec 27 (PTI) The three-day annual ''Shaheedi Jor Mela,'' which is held in the memory of the martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh''s two younger sons, concluded peacefully at Gurdwara Jyoti Swarup Sahib today.

On the occasion, the traditional religious procession was taken out from Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib to Gurdwara Jyoti Swarup.

To mark the concluding ceremony, Tarlochan Singh, head priest Takht Keshgarh Sahib, performed prayers at Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib.

The procession was then led by Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture placed in a "Palki Sahib" (palanquin).

Braving thick fog and inclement weather, members of the Sikh community from different parts of the country and abroad participated in the religious procession.

The nagar kirtan procession was led by ''Panj Piaras'' (five beloved), an SGPC spokesman said.

The procession completed its 2 kms distance and terminated at Gurdwara Jyoti Swarup, where the two sons of Guru Gobind Singh were cremated by Diwan Todar Mal.
