Andhra BJP leaders held for protest
Hyderabad, Nov 10(PTI) Andhra Pradesh BJP president G Kishan Reddy and former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya were taken into preventive custody here today when they were trying to stage protest for not being allowed to undertake decoration work at Bhagya Lakshmi temple here.
Police said they tried to stop the two leaders who were trying to proceed towards Indira Park along with 200 odd party workers, and they were taken into preventive custody when they tried to resist.
Earlier, addressing the gathering, G Kishan Reddy alleged the police department was working at the behest of Majlis-e-Ittehadul-Muslimeen which is supporting the N Kiran Kumar Reddy government.
Dattareya alleged that the state government was adopting appeasement policy towards a particular community, and appealed to it to direct police for cooperating with the temple management for taking up decoration work by tomorrow on the occasion of Diwali.
BJP leader Subramanian Swamy criticised the Aam Aadmi Party for taking support from the Congress. Swamy said that the AAP has committed suicide by opting for an alliance with the Congress.
