Coastguard personnel rescue stranded boat
Kochi, Oct 25 (PTI): Seven fishermen, who had put out to sea from Neendakara in Kollam coast and were stranded in their fishing boat off Alapuzha, were rescued by the Coastguard.
Their fishing boat ''MFV Jafrinmol'' was sighted to be anchored 30 nautical miles from Alappuzha by a Coastguard aircraft on a routine patrol yesterday. The seven persons on board the boat were waving for help, a Naval press release said today.
CoastGuard fast attack craft C-150 sailed off from Kochi to render assistance to the distressed boat which was anchored for last six days due to engine failure.
The boat alongwith crew was towed to Alappuzha and handed over to the owners of the boat early this morning, the release said.
