CBI arrests 2 directors of regnl channel, sent to 2-week JC

New Delhi, Jul 23 (PTI) Two directors of a Bhojpuri TV channel have been arrested by the CBI in a case of alleged forgery to secure bank loans of nearly Rs 100 crore and were today remanded in judicial custody for two weeks.
Acting on the complaint of three nationalised banks, the CBI arrested Mahuaa channel directors P K Tewari and Anand Tewari for allegedly producing fake invoices and Chartered Accountant certificates to secure Rs 34 crore loan from each of the three banks, agency sources said.
Special CBI Judge Swarana Kanta Sharma remanded the two men to judicial custody till August 4 after the CBI said they were not required for further custodial interrogation.
The agency registered the case in January this year on the complaints of the three banks -- Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank and Union Bank of India which were cheated allegedly by the directors.

According to the CBI, the directors had procured loan from the three banks for the expansion of their channel. PTI ABS SKV ABA SPC GSN
