Ahmedabad youth held for raping his cousin
Ahmedabad: A youth was today arrested for allegedly raping his 24-year-old cousin over a period of one year, police said.
"The woman has filed a complaint alleging that her uncle's son raped her on various occasions for more than a year," said an officer attached to Sola police station where the complaint was lodged today.
The victim was staying at her uncle's place in Sola area of the city, he said.
The accused Arvind Sadhu had recorded the act on his mobile phone and used to rape the woman by threatening her of circulating the clip, police said.
"The accused kept threatening the girl and sexually assaulted her for a long time, but when his demands increased she gathered courage and approached police," the officer said.
Sadhu was booked under sections 376 and 120 (b) of IPC for rape and criminal conspiracy.
BJP leader Subramanian Swamy criticised the Aam Aadmi Party for taking support from the Congress. Swamy said that the AAP has committed suicide by opting for an alliance with the Congress.
