50,000 to take part in fill the jails protest: Karunanidhi
Speaking to reporters here Tuesday, he said: "The 'fill the jails' protest will be held in a great manner .... we are confident about it. The government is also confident about that."
He said around 50,000 party members have registered their names to participate in the agitation.
The agitation is being held to condemn the continuing arrests of former DMK ministers and other party members.
According to Karunanidhi, the party treasurer and his younger son M.K.Stalin is slightly
unwell but has still announced his participation in the agitation.
Karunanidhi said if the party's MPs and legislators would still vote in the presidential election even if they are not released after being arrested in the agitation.
