Pupils stand to form the territory of China to celebrate the upcoming 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, at a primary school in Jinhua, Zhejiang province September 30, 2009. China is celebrating on October 1 the 60th anniversary the founding of the People's Republic of China. The Chinese characters read "long live the motherland".
China's success story is primarily etched in its economy. The milestones that the nation can boast of 60 years after Mao Zedong's communists took over Beijing are predominantly number driven.
China is the third largest economy in the world - second largest, if the yardstick is its purchasing power parity.

Two thirds of the Chinese population - a staggering 800 million people live below the poverty line.
The epic tragedy of the PRC is proven by simply looking at what the chinese have accomplished wherever they do not live under Beijing's rule: Hong kong until 1997 , Taiwan, Singapore.
During the first thirty years of its existence the PRC was arguably the worst place on Earth to live. Grinding poverty abounded in many parts of the world, but chairman mao added catastrophic development schemes and a special measure of brutality. The victims of chinese communism measured in the tens of millions, not counting the imprisoned and those condemned to force labour.Secret police surveillance, informants betraying family and professional ties measures destroyed the ancient traditions of Chinese Civilization.
The second thirty years have been far better than the first thirty for the PRC, if only because the regime no longer engages in the mass slaughter of its citizens. China is no longer the worst place in the world to live, But compared to what might have been , the PRC is the last great failure of the 20th century that endures into the 21st.
you can rule over country,u can force people live like your way,
but u can't rule in the heart of people,
chine's goverment is like nize's,there like hittler,

Many many accolades to Chinese people for their great achievements. As professional, I have some interactions with Chinese Engineers and I found them to be polite, sober, always smiling and cooperative and dedicated to the interest of their company and work.
At that time I compared with our work environments and peers. Many of them are rogue, arrogant, impatient, unnecessarily talking in loud voice etc. Leave apart the corruption in all spheres of life! We are to get rid of this corruptions first to achieve anything good. ( they hanged the milk adulterator!!!).
All the best and Regards to Chinese people.
Every one here who had written have their own opinion about China but i wish to share something that some of you may not be aware of. The chinese really is a developing country economically but what about the freedom of expression for the people of Tibet and Xianjang?? I know some people who has wriiten China being a good country. Yes i do agree that the chinese people are good, humble and compassionate but what goes wrong is their policy. Nobody seems to have seen the bloody days in 1950's,1980 and 2000's.....still we are suffering and nobody can give justice. So as the saying goes, the shoe wearer knows where it pinches. so please know about tibet!!!! We are desperate to be in our own country.
The chinese should change their policy but i love chinese people as i love my own people(tibetan)

I am surprised to see things written about a country, i guess even without visiting it once, I am a proud India, fortunately have been traveling to China frequently for the last 3 yrs. They have equal freedom as we do here, yes, the press is not free to print what they feel like ( as if the press here acts responsibly and do we seriously think the press here is mature enough). The fact of the matter is that they are better off.
Let us not take anything away from any nation, for it is not the handful of politicians that make a country , its the people, their hard work, their attitude towards their own nation that has made them what they are today.
We have to learn a lot from them, lets focus at the positives, we have a long way to catch up. don't waste time criticizing anyone, lets focus on building our own nation.
So many Indians are working in China as software professionals as well as in other fields. They are also enjoying enough freedom. Most of them married chinese girls and already settled there leading a better standard of living. No doubt, in the near future,
they will surpass the US to become the number one in the world.
