Global commercial real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield has released their annual Office Space Across the World publication for 2014. Connaught Place in New Delhi finds itself in the top ten once again, although, in what must be good news for businesses in the area, commercial/office space has become cheaper, in what was once a forested ridge inhabited by jackals, partridges and wild pigs. Today, Connaught Place (CP) is, by far, one of the most expensive tracts of real estate; certainly in the country and in the world too. We take you through the top ten most expensive office spaces in the world, for 2014
West End, London, UK
Rank (last year): 1 (1)
Annual cost: 2,122 euros/sq m
West End retains the distinction of most expensive office rentals in the world, for the second consecutive year. The twin specters of growing demand and shrinking space suggests it will continue to hold the top spot for the foreseeable future… certainly through 2014. An increase in leasing activity in 2013 saw rents jump 5 percent. And that jump (with similar values in Frankfurt, Germany) was key in Western European markets outperforming their Eastern counterparts.
