Mittal Steel-Arcelor

Mittal Steel, owned by Lakshmi Mittal, bought Arcelor, a Luxembourg-based company, for $33 billion in 2006. The new entity, which went by the name ArcelorMittal S.A., became the world’s largest steel producer with an annual crude steel production of 97.2 million tonnes as of 2011.
