After a Taliban commander hands himself in to claim his finder's reward, we highlight men who gave themselves a raw deal.
Earlier this year a Taliban commander handed himself in to a police station in Afghanistan. The reason? He wanted to claim his 'finder's reward' after pictures of this 'most wanted' man were posted. Not the sharpest tool in the box, he was promptly arrested and can expect a lengthy wait for that reward... But he's not the only man who can rightly wonder if he's not his own worst enemy.
As boys we're more likely to end up in A&E as the result of some needlessly foolish pursuit. And as men we're statistically more prone to alcoholism, physical altercations, affairs and landing ourselves in jail. It's little wonder men don't tend to last as long as the opposite sex.
You can blame it on the greed, the pride or the passion - but the truth is sometimes there's no accounting for the behaviour of men who hurt themselves and their chances in life. Some men are better than others at pressing the self-destruct button - like this bunch for example. Here are the top 10 men who were their own worst enemies.
