Hina Rabbani Khar's entry into politics may have been by default - as daughter of politician and landowner Ghulam Noor Rabbani Khar - but her tenure since July 2011 as Pakistan foreign minister has been anything but unnoticed. At the time of her appointment, a vast majority in her country and abroad held that she was too inexperienced in the realms of foreign affairs and diplomacy to assume such an important role, especially at a juncture when the country was grappling with a multitude of serious problems both internally and concerning relations with key global stakeholders.
