The Nobel committee hands out its Peace Prize on Friday morning at 6am ET. There were a record 259 nominations for the award this year. As always, it's a strong list of contenders. Click through our gallery to learn more about some of the favourites to win the prestigious award, as well as some of the longshots. In this September 27, 2013 photo, Malala Yousufzai addresses students and faculty after receiving the 2013 Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian Award at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. European lawmakers recently awarded their top human rights prize to the Pakistani schoolgirl, who survived a Taliban assassination attempt last year. The romantics choice for the award, Malala would be by far the youngest-ever winner.
