Sikhs celebrate 540th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak

"Man learn about religion" Hindusim is not a Religion Its a way of Living and Sikhism is a subsect which promised guru nanak that they protect the hindus against muslims(remember 12 Midnight and Thing you wear). i have due respect for sikh's. Its an unfortunate thing is that religious and political leaders putting the religion as a shield and are playing with a comman man. 

This statement about Sikhism being a sub set of Hinduism is not correct. By that logic all religions are sub set of some ancient way of life? And why talk about individuality of Hinduism from the 'way of life' it emanated from? Hinduism is a way of life, similarly Sikhism, Islam, Christianity, Judaism too are a unique way of life for their followers. Sikhism has not been founded by Guru Nanak Dev ji to protect a particular sect (Sanatan, Shivaites etc) or a particular way of life. It has been born to propagate a new way of life in which everyone be it Muslim, Hindu, Indian or Turkish etc could be free to live without fear on equal terms which unfortunately were not prevalent in our Indian society. Guru Sahib himself says 'i am not Hindu nor  Turk' , then why have a contrarian viewpoint?. My mom is hindu my father a Sikh, my grandfather a Hindu and grandmother a Sikh and i find solace in Sikhism. My life partner is a hindu, she could have been a muslim, christian or from any other culture. Does not make a difference? But i have a belief that if indians had taken to Guru Nanak's way of life then India could have been a developed country faster. Proof, why Punjab despite all odds and disadvantages continues to be a place of Hardworking, open minded, enthusiastic people who are willing to work hard to change their destiny. And on the other hand states like UP, Bihar, MP and so on despite all the advantages of area, rivers and people lag in development? Anyways we may profess any religion but we must live together like most reasonable people on earth do. And if possible keep away from the rituals, mythology, old ideas, unscientific & unfounded practices and present ourselves as modern, rational, scientific and warm indians to the world at large and live with each others in peace and affection.
