Dr K Radhakrishnan will take over from Nair, who retires on October 31, as Chairman and also Secretary, Ministry of Space. Radhakrishnan, 60, is an active Kathakali artiste as well as a Carnatic musician. He is presently the director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) in Thiruvananthapuram and a key architect of the recent Chandrayan expedition.
