Natural disasters aplenty across globe
Today, the second Wednesday of October, is International Day for Natural Disaster Reduction. The United Nations had passed this resolution to promote a global culture of natural disaster reduction, including disaster prevention, mitigation and preparedness. Here, we take a look at disasters that have affected countries worldwide this year. From Cyclone Aila, Australian bushfires, to the recent quakes in Italy and Indonesia and floods in south India, Mother Nature has expressed her displeasure loud and clear.
