MP Chief Minister on ads for sex pills

Indore: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and his government will continue to remain the unwilling brand ambassadors of performance-enhancing pills being sold by a pharma company through a Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (Mapcost) website.

Despite the matter being brought to the knowledge of the concerned authorities, they expressed helplessness in removing the objectionable material from the site. The reason: No access to server that hosts the website.
However, embarrassed Mapcost authorities lodged a complaint with the Bhopal police on Friday seeking a probe into hacking of the government website and spamming with pornographic material.

"Even we are surprised about it. We had stopped payment for the site four years ago. This site is no more on our domain or server," said Mapcost director general Pramod Kumar Verma, reacting to a DNA report.

The Mapcost website has several links that promote sale of sex pills, and related goods and activities.
Inspector General of Police, Bhopal range, Shailendra Shrivastava, said: "We will have the accused put behind bars and ensure that the objectionable material is removed from the site at the earliest".

Mapcost is an autonomous body headed by the CM. Top ministers, bureaucrats, scientists, educationists and prominent personalities of the state are members of the council.
