CAG for more independence to regulators
“Which body should ensure this transparency, I really can’t say. There are any number of regulators who are supposed to be doing this,’’ Rai said.
He also said that aversion to transparency is coming down in government. He expressed confidence that Indian economic growth will soon be on an upswing and that the recent dip in growth was a transitory phase.
Later, Rai however declined to take questions from media on any of the auditees of CAG.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath ruled out an early end to the Parliament winter session, saying it will run as per schedule.
