Natchiappan calls on Manmohan Singh, discusses DMIC project
New Delhi, Jul 4 (PTI) Minister of State for Commerce and Industry E M S Natchiappan today called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and apprised him of ongoing projects like Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).
"During the meeting, Natchiappan apprised Singh of the ongoing development schemes/projects like DMIC and Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor, and the issues regarding expediting the clearance of ongoing projects," an official statement said.
Besides, he also discussed the current political situation in Tamil Nadu.
"Further, Singh also advised him to follow all the ongoing industrial projects and expedite the same," it added.
India''s ambitious USD 90 billion DMIC project is aimed at creating mega industrial infrastructure along the Delhi-Mumbai Rail Freight Corridor, which is under implementation.
