India Energy Congress to focus on energy security issues
New Delhi, Feb 4 (PTI) The two-day India Energy Congress starting this week will focus on issues related to energy security in the context of policy and regulatory framework.
More than 300 professionals from the energy sector are expected to participate in the event starting here on February 7. It is organised by World Energy Council India under the patronage of Power Ministry.
The theme is ''Securing Tomorrow''s Energy Today: Policy and Regulation''.
"This edition of the Congress will look at the Energy Security issue in the context of Policy and Regulation.
"It will examine the potential for clear, simple, coherent and consistent predictable policy and regulatory framework to address the complex issue of energy security," NTPC Chairman and Managing Director Arup Roy Choudhury said in a statement.
Choudhury is the Vice Chair (South Asia and Asia Pacific) World Energy Council.
Power Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, New and Renewable Energy Minister Farooq Abdullah and Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal, among others, are expected to address the event. PTI RAM
