Pistachio up on rising demand



New Delhi, Apr 29 (PTI) Pistachio prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today largely on the back of increased buying by retailers and stockists.

Fall in supplies from overseas markets also supported the rise in the prices.

Pistachio hairati and peshwari rose by Rs 5 each to conclude at Rs 805-855 and Rs 985-1,005 per kg, respectively.

Market analysts said increased buying by retailers and stockists to meet marriage season demand against fall in supplies from overseas markets, mainly pushed up pistachio prices in the dry fruits market here.

Almond (California) Rs 13,800 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 7,200-7,600; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,500-3,700; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-20,000.

Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 490-500 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 350-450 per kg. .
