‘Amul, India’s most attractive food & beverage brand’
Ahmedabad: Amul continues to be India’s most attracted food and beverage brand, according to a survey. The latest report from the Trust Research Advisory (TRA), a leading brand insights company, titled India’s Most Attractive Brands 2013 (MAB 2013), said on Friday the results based on a primary survey conducted with 2,505 consumer-influencers across 16 cities, has held Amul to be the most popular brand in this category. The survey was based on TRA’s proprietary matrix of 36 brand attractiveness traits.
Four more Gujarat-based brands feature among India’s MAB list: Arvind Mills, Ajanta Clocks, Nirma and Balaji. These have featured in the list of India’s top 200 MABs. Amul, popular as the Taste of India, stood out amongst 177 brands listed in the Food & Beverage category. It also becomes India’s 18th MAB among all brands. An iconic brand, Amul has retained a leadership position in its category over the last 57 years.
Gujarat-based Vadilal and Havmor have dominated the ice-cream category as the second and third MABs in this category. The State-based Balaji is India’s third MAB in the packaged snacks category, said N. Chandramouli, CEO of TRA. TRA provides competitive intelligence reports mined from its 11 million data-points on brand intangibles of 19,000 brands and also undertakes custom-made studies for brands. Reacting on the rumours that Congress may name Unique Identification Authority of India Chairman, Nandan Nilekani as its candidate for Prime Minister, JD(U) Leader Shivanand Tiwari said the move could be suicidal for the party.
