Jammu, Feb 1 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation has announced a dearness allowance of 20 per cent prospectively for its employees buoyed by the impressive growth in revenues in 2011-12 financial year.
The instalment of DA was released prospectively keeping in view the encouraging revenue generation by the Corporation during last fiscal, an official release said.
The employees of state transport corporation were getting only cost of living allowance earlier.
The corporation earned revenue of Rs 83.43 crore during 2011-12 as against Rs 55.26 crore earned in 2010-11, registering growth of 51 per cent.
The Board of Directors in its meeting today also adopted Sixth Pay Commission scales with effect from April 1, 2012, without paying DA to the employees so far.
Minister for Transport, CAPD, Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan asked the corporation to ensure safe and efficient bus services to commuters and tourists besides timely transportation of food grains to every nook corner of the state.
